Bio
Elovet [Ee-Low-vet] is a multi-disciplinary creative whose work realizes sounds and emotions through music. Driving to capture the moment, no matter how ephemeral, he creates expressive and resonant soundscapes through experimentation with found sound and original recordings. Continued confrontations with ever-changing environments led Elovet to turn his lens inward.
Born in North Carolina and raised around the world, Elovet has always been drawn to life’s most elusive moments. After graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), with a BFA in Illustration and a minor in Painting, he spent time working in film and as a freelance visual artist. Now in Los Angeles, Elovet freelances as an illustrator and graphic designer and is currently working on his second album.
Using music to express his rawest emotions, he draws inspiration from his training as a visual artist to create sonic projects that more closely resemble sprawling compositions than conventional albums.
Zines
4.5 Days in New York, $15.00 - A companion zine to the 4.5 Days in New York musical EP. It features lyrics to the songs from the EP and insight into the story of the project. As well as photographs that were taken on a handful of disposable cameras during the trip to New York that inspired the EP, and screenshots from a series of short videos I created and shared on IGTV as a way to lead up to the release of the project. Other Work
As well as creating zines I am also a musician, visual artist, and video artist. All of these titles come coupled with many different methods of creation: the 4.5 Days in New York zine is a great example of this sort of multi-faceted project. With its connection to a musical project, and connection to video art through the usage of printed screenshots. It allows me to fold together and connect many of my creative practices in one project.
